How to Hook Up Intex Pool Filter
Intex pool filters are a great way to keep your pool clean and clear, but hooking them up can be a bit tricky. In this article, we will walk you through the steps to hook up an Intex pool filter to your above-ground pool.
1. Gather Your Supplies
Before you start, you'll need to gather all the supplies you'll need to install your Intex pool filter. These supplies include:
- Intex pool filter
- Hoses (included with your Intex pool filter)
- Clamp (included with your Intex pool filter)
- Screwdriver
2. Choose a Location for Your Filter
The first step in hooking up your Intex pool filter is to choose a location for it. You will want to place your filter close to your pump so that you can easily connect the hoses. Ideally, your filter should be in a shaded area to help protect it from the sun's harsh rays.
3. Connect Your Hoses
Next, you will need to connect the hoses to the inlet and outlet ports on your Intex pool filter. The inlet port is where water from the pool enters the filter, and the outlet port is where the clean water returns to the pool.
To connect your hoses, simply push them onto the ports and tighten the clamp with your screwdriver to secure them in place. Be sure to connect the correct hose to the correct port. The hose with the black end should be attached to the inlet port and the hose with the white end should be attached to the outlet port.
4. Attach Your Filter to Your Pump
Once your hoses are connected to your Intex pool filter, you will need to attach the filter to your pump. To do this, simply connect the other end of the hoses to the inlet and outlet ports on your pump.
Again, be sure to connect the correct hose to the correct port. The hose with the black end should be attached to the inlet port on your pump and the hose with the white end should be attached to the outlet port on your pump.
5. Prime Your Pump
After you have connected your Intex pool filter to your pump, you will need to prime your pump. To do this, turn your pump on and let it run until water starts flowing out of the outlet port on your filter.
At this point, you will want to open the air release valve on your filter to allow any trapped air to escape. Once all the air has been released, tighten the valve back up.
6. Enjoy a Clean Pool
Congratulations, you have successfully hooked up your Intex pool filter! Now, all that's left to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy a clean and clear pool all season long.
In conclusion, hooking up an Intex pool filter is a relatively simple process that anyone can do with just a few basic tools. Follow these steps, and you'll be enjoying a clean pool in no time!
